I LOVE HIM SFM. The moment I saw that advert, I was annoyed like WHOA at it. The show is using homosexuality as a “gimmick” for entertainment. If anything, this will just make being homosexual appear to be less of a “norm” in society. Well done Channel Four- you fucking morons.

The response he got was annoying, naive, and could’ve been mail-merged, it basically said “well lol it’s entertainment for a young demographic so it’s OKAY: D”. I’ll copy and paste a clip of what the representative said (obviously I want to keep my uncle and the representative anon…because I’m nice like this):

“We are sorry to hear that you find this programme exploitative and offensive. Far from reinforcing negative stereotypes around male sexuality, the programme looks instead to challenge them in a light-hearted, humorous manner suitable for E4?s younger audience. Furthermore, by featuring both gay and straight contributors, the series highlights and lampoons some of the misrepresentative labels attached to not just gay men, but equally to straight men as well.”

He replied that, as a gay man himself, he is not reassured by this at all. ALL THE AWARDS FOR MY UNCLE (in reply to this, he basically told her where to go…)

No. It really isn’t okay, C4, I find the idea behind this show disgusting.
