Let me just casually reblog my favourite scene.
Because they didn’t realize that Haymitch and the others were plotting for a rebellion, I kind of thought that Peeta would have been an amazing mentor. He would have had those sponsors lined up for miles to help out the real love of his life, his fake bride and their fake baby.
Then I remember that this is Peeta. He would never have been able to sit by and let Haymitch die over Katniss no matter how much he loved her. Of course he’s going to choose to sacrifice himself so that she and Haymitch can have a future. And in the end, you figure while he’s in that Arena, he’s going to do his damnedest to make sure he gets sponsors for her like the first time. It helps when the audience can see them together all the time, see the way he’s fighting for her and want to help the Boy with the Bread and his dying wish.
Sorry…my feelings about Peeta just hijacked me for a moment. (I’m rereading Catching Fire for the seventh time.)
